“We
strive to possess everything within our reach
but in
the end we can possess nothing except memories
and even those shall disappear with our
passing away.”
J. J. von Österreich und Toskana
Empires rise and fall. The history books are full of examples. Although XXI century man goes about acting like God, feeling as if he was going to be here forever because of his science and technology, he still is and will always be under nature´s rules.
He can play with her rules to construct his mechanised civilisation, but he is nevertheless at her mercy. Nature is unforgiving. She´s got no favourite children. He that does not play by her rules must perish. Thus speaks the fossil record.
And we are not playing by her rules. We pollute oceans, rivers, air and soil just to live in a bubble of our imagination. Should we continue the way we are going, the bubble will burst and we will find ourselves swimming in the laberynthodont´s cementery.
The following video gives us a view of what awaits modern man: his own demise. We can see how future archaelogists are piecing together the evidence to answer the question: What went wrong with XXI civilisation´s man?
But my questions is: Where did the future scientists come from? It would have been more appropriate to have depicted some cave dwellers wandering about what happened to us.
Anyhow here is the video. Have fun!
