China is a land of surprises. To say that all of people in China are barbaric consumers of animals is completely wrong. There is a very strong animal liberation movement in this country.
One of the most impressive operation carried out recently was when the Capital Animal Welfare Association rescued more than 500 dogs from animal traffickers.
Li Wei and her association bravely cornered the dog trafficker who demanded more than US $17.000 for the dogs. The association was able to raise the money and got the dogs and immediately took them to a vet clinic. The dogs are now for adoption.
