Niños salen de paseo y nunca vuelven a casa. Campesinos que van al huerto a sacar yuca y desaparecen. Madres que se quejan entre sollozos de que sus pequeños se han esfumado como por arte de magia. Casos así son comunes en Panamá.
Hay rumores de mafias y traficantes de órganos y carne humana en Panamá, especialmente en los alrededores de la capital y las ciudades del interior (e.g., Antón y Penonomé, provincia de Coclé).
También hay historias de seres mitológicos del monte (e.g., duendes) y aliens extraterrestres que secuestran humanos y animales.
