The mega-kill – this year´s Nearctic bloodbath – is done by courtesy of a group of Homo insapiens who act as the kings of creation anywhere on Earth (Video 1).
The root of this seal holocaust is pure greed.

On the one hand, you find those people who do this not to eat “sustainably” but to hunt like mad unsustainably, as many seal as they want or can, to cash in lots of money from selling thousands of skins of the hunted animals.

On the one hand, you find those people who do this not to eat “sustainably” but to hunt like mad unsustainably, as many seal as they want or can, to cash in lots of money from selling thousands of skins of the hunted animals.

These mad commercial hunters will tell you that blasting off the head of baby seals
to strip off their skins is an old “cultural
tradition” for them. They are never lacking excuses for this seal
holocaust.
On the other hand, you have those “native” (also “non-native”) humans living in northern Canada who in order to carry on with their actual “normal” lives they “must” hunt.
But traditional subsistence seal hunting of aboriginal peoples like the Inuit is one thing, seal hunting on a large commercial scale is another thing. This is slaughter.
To this seal hunting, we must add, the illegal trafficking in other Arctic wildlife products such as narwhal tusks.
What for?
Money, of course!
Money to fill up their vehicle tanks (cars, pick-ups, snowmobiles, etc.) as many times as they want to jack around in town as much as they want, to buy guns and gunshot, to get drunk with liquor or moonshine, to purchase illegal drugs (cocaine, cannabis, etc.), to buy tobacco (men and women), to gamble, to buy junk food, to paid the monthly payments for their fancy living room and dining sets and electronic appliances at the stores, to pay the high house utilities to warm their butts, to get laid, and other trepidations to feel sensual sensations and keep the boredom at bay.
Consumerism is hot stuff in the Arctic too. Forget about the igloos. That is history.
Arctic folks are extremely hooked on the modern conveniences and inconveniences (e.g., never ending debt, permanent slave work, etc.) of the “Western lifestyle”.
And they are willing to pay with their necks or someone else´s necks for the expensive goodies at the supermarkets.
They are fucked like the rest of the human cattle around the world.
Fucked like everybody else. So much so that, as far as the solid waste is concerned, they do not know what to do with their piles of shit (Fig.1), be it organic or electronic.
The average residential volume of crap in the cold regions is between 0.014m3p.d (per person per day) (Smith, 1996) and 0.015 m3p.d (Kent et al., 2003).
This mass of solid waste becomes 146,850 m3 in 30 years and to dispose of this amount of waste approximately 7.3 hectares of land would be required (Dillon Consulting Limited, 2011).
Crap and more crap piled on top of more crap...
The Arctic is being literally filled with human crap little by little.

European Union opens doors to seal blood: Good news for the psychopathic hunters and the narco-fashion
At the end of this seal hunting bloody chain, in the grand bazaars of Europe (chiefly Italy and Denmark), Russia, North America and other affluent nations, you have the hundreds of bloodsuckers of the industry of fashion and narco-fashion.
Narco-fashion?
Yes, narco-fashion. By narco-fashion we mean those fashion firms that set up their name brands offshore plus hundreds, sometimes thousands, of phantom firm in a tax haven to do heavy duty money laundering.
These “socially-responsible” and “sustainable” non-saintly fashion companies push in truckloads of dirty money from narco-trafficking and other fucking trafficking into the maze of untractable phantom firms so it can come out freshly washed and clean at their convenient end.

The whole idea of stripping off the skin of thousands of seals in the Canadian Arctic is to make bored consumers smile for a short while - when wearing a seal coat (Fig. 2) - somewhere in the world where anti-biospherical moron and well-off consumers are found.
Where the fuck is the news of this year´s seal holocaust to fuel the high fashion and narco-fashion?
In the Arctic newspapers. This is the beauty of internet.
The Nunavut News/North, Monday, 20th October 2014 (page 3) reports that the “European Union is allowing the unhindered import and sale of sealskins from Nunanvut´s Inuit hunters”.
According to the Nunavut newspaper the “EU will now allow indigenous seal products without restrictions based on type or intended use, and that non-indiginous people can now participate in the production of seal products”.
"Four Canadian cabinet ministers, including Nunavut MP and Environment Minister Leona Aglukkaq, announced Oct. 10 in Ottawa that they’ve struck a deal with the European Union to ensure seal products harvested by indigenous people in Canada may be sold within EU member states", reported the NunatsiaqOnline.
This is part of the European Union and Canadian government trade agreements, according to the Nunavut News.

Obviously, they are bilateral agreements on predation and killing of seals.
And despite what they might tell you, no government official is around to keep check on the hunters or to see that seals are killed in a “humane” way.
“Humane”?
There is not such a “humane” death when someone smashes or blast off the head of a baby seal!
