DEPORTED IMMIGRANTS LIMBO IN TIJUANA: UNLOCK YOUR LUCK

"The skinnier the dog, the more fleas he has" is what comes to our mind when we see the Mexican deportees flowing into Tijuana, Mexico, daily. They are out of luck.

Luck? What the fuck is that?

Luck is that what gets you where there is no luck unless the luck of those who have at the moment luck come to you to give you some of their luck or the other way around.

There can never be total luck on this planet if there are still some out of luck.

Our luck is interdependent. Your luck used to be my luck and my luck used to be your luck.

One in everything and everything in one.

Capisce?

We have got to ask our humble brethren the ants

How do they do it?

These Mexican immigrants have been kicked out the United States for various reasons: being an illegal alien, not paying taxes, failing to register an auto, committing a crime, selling drugs, sometimes just for being Mexican, etc.

Having nowhere to go when they are dumped in Tijuana by U.S. authorities, many immigrants end up living a dog´s life (even though some dogs are luckier and have a better life) in a makeshift shantytown set up along a city ditch, the concrete riverbed where the Tijuana River once flowed.

This is home for them, a place deported immigrants call "El Bordo" (the border).

They live in limbo. So close to Heaven and yet in Hell.

Luckily there are Samaritans who help them. Bravo to these wonderful people!!!

The following documentary shows what life is like for these deported Mexican immigrants living in El Bordo:
