The International Business Leaders Forum (IBLF) is an independent, nonprofit membership organization established in 1990 by Charles, Prince of Wales, and a group of leaders (CEOs) from international companies, government and civil society with the idea to promote corporate social responsibility (CSR).
The goal behind the CSR business practices is for corporations to function based on ethical values to help achieve socially, economically, and environmentally sustainable development.
It is indeed ironic that the very same multinational companies that go about tearing up the environment worldwide pursuing profit for the sustainance of a way of life that is not at all sustainable get together to promote environmental sustainability.
Nowadays it has become quite popular to hide behind the environment, charities and children foundations, or any association that has to do with philanthropism, the ugly faces that the corporations do the outmost a lot of the times to keep away from the public´s knowledge.
The issue begs for a question: What business do these people have and how can they talk about environmental sustainability when they themselves have a very high standard of living which means in the end a big hole in the fabric of the Biosphere?
