Humans, primates wired to be lazy or whose common strategy is getting the most out of something with the least energy input, can be easily corrupted. This is common knowledge for narcos (drug lords), people who are aware that nowadays most Homo sapiens carry a price tag.
So name me one single sport or sport activity in the anthroposphere, and I´ll bet you it is infiltrated or crapped by illegal drugs.
How about gyms?
Yes, some are. For example here is the news of a gym boss involved in drug trafficking in Liverpool (UK). He was plotting to use an ambulance and fake nurses to transport Class A drugs.
