It has happened all over the planet. It is still happening now (Video 1). And apparently, it will not stop until there is nothing alive to cut on the surface of the Earth.

Extreme tree criminals have been at it for a long time
on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada, for example.
A long time ago, tree criminals had to work hard - i.e. sweat their arses off - to cut noble giant trees (Fig. 1), the Guardians of the Planet Earth.
Today tree criminals do it in a much less strenuous manner, for they have quite sophisticated plant exterminating tools (e.g., chainsaws) and machines (e.g., tree cutting tractors and trucks) (Videos 2-3) at their disposal to destroy the forests in a jiffy; usually all done in the name of an obviously moron or short-sighted "progress".

What kind of creature are you not to stop these massive eco-crimes?
What level are you at?
"Person", "near person" or "merely sentient" (Varner, 2012)?
If only "merely sentient" beings, i.e. a biological robots, it is then not surprising at all that these tree crimes are still going on today!
Folks... Wake up!!!
Without trees, there would be no human "civilisation"!
It is high time you started learning to love trees!!!
