¡URGENTE! ¡EL ULTIMO ARBOL GIGANTE EN PELIGRO EN JACA (ESPAÑA)! - URGENT! THE LAST GIANT TREE IN DANGER IN JACA (SPAIN)!

TO ALL TREE LOVERS OF THE WORLD:
PARA TODOS LOS AMANTES DE ARBOLES DEL MUNDO:

Hereby we, the tree lovers in Jaca, inform all tree lovers around the world that we continue with the battle to save the centenary-old trees in Jaca (Huesca, Spain), especialy the last green giant, the majestic old poplar (Populus nigra), that we dearly call "Mr. Poplar", found on the Ravens´ Crown Way (Fig. 1). 

Por este medio, nosotros, los amantes de árboles de Jaca, informamos a todos los amantes de los árboles alrededor del mundo de que nuestra batalla por salvar los árboles centenarios en Jaca (Huesca, España) continúa y en especial queremos salvar el último gigante verde, el majestuoso viejo chopo (Populus nigra), que nosotros llamamos cariñosamente "don Chopo", situado en el Camino Corona de los Cuervos (Fig. 1).

Because of our fight to save Mr. poplar, we have been threatened and our computers have already been hacked once. We now have a German cybercrime specialist working on this latter issue.

It is clear that there are some people interested in seeing this beautiful giant poplar killed under the excuse that this tree is a "menace to the neighbourhood". 

Apart for the tree-loving and defending family at the foot of Mr. Poplar, only five more people live permanently far away (East) from the tree on Ravens´ Crown Way. 

"Do these few neighbours, one of whom was seen furiously cutting a small lateral root of Mr. Poplar during the cleaning of the water ditch along the road more than a year ago, want to see this nature-loving family out of the way for some unknown reason?", is just one of the many questions that some people are asking amongst themselves in the city. 

The world must know that the same people who clearly understand the biological, cultural, medicinal and scientific importance of this particular tree and are fighting to save this botanical jewel in Jaca is the same family that lives right at the foot of Mr. Poplar and has NO fear of the giant poplar tree ever falling on their home (Fig. 1).

Mr. Poplar is strong and full of life! 

Mr. Poplar can withstand strong storms and winds (Table 1) without any problem, including gusty weather with velocities of over 100 km/h, according to our studies for nearly two years (late 2012-early 2014).

Por nuestra lucha por salvar a "don Chopo", ya hemos recibido amenazas y nuestros ordenadores han sido ciberatacados una vez. Por este motivo ya tenemos a un especialista alemán en ciber-crímen investigando el ataque a nuestros ordenadores.

Está claro que hay personas a quienes les interesa ver a este bello chopo talado y asesinado bajo el pretexto de que este árbol es "una amenaza para el vecindario". 

Aparte de la familia amante y defensora de árboles que viven al pie de "don Chopo", solamente cinco personas más viven permanente en el Camino de los Cuervos y distantes del árbol. 

"¿Quieren estos vecinos, uno de los cuales fue visto furiosamente cortar una raíz lateral de "don chopo" durante la limpieza del canal de agua hace más de un año, echar a esta familia amante de la naturaleza por alguna razón desconocida?",  es una de varias de las pregunta que se hacen algunas personas en la ciudad.

Todo el mundo debe saber que las mismas personas que comprenden la importancia biológica, cultural, medicinal y científica de este árbol en particular y están luchando para salvar esta joya botánico en Jaca es la misma familia que habita al pie de don Chopo and NADIE de la familia tiene miedo de que el árbol caiga en su hogar.

¡Don Chopo está fuerte (Tabla 1) y lleno de vida! 

Don Chopo aguanta con fuertes tormentas y vientos (Tabla 1) sin ningún problema, incluso ráfagas con velocidades de más de 100 km/h, según nuestros estudios durante casi dos años (2012-2014).



When are we going to learn the lesson?

We ask everyone this question: 

When are we humans ever going to learn any lesson about taking care of the Biosphere? (Fig 2).


¿Cuándo aprenderemos la lección?

Os hacemos a todos vosotros una pregunta:

¿Cuándo aprenderemos nosotros los humanos a cuidar de la Biosfera? (Fig. 2).
