OUR DAEMOCRATIC CIRCUS

Source: Wikipedia.

By G. von Hammer

Metaphorically, human societies are like merry-go-rounds and roller-coasters. What now seem to be peaceful times are nothing but short resting periods between incoming conflicts and wars. Human history speaks for itself.

So let us always be on guard against evil.

At this time and age, let us not forget we are always surrounded by cloaked people who, taking advantage of being in office of service to the public and by following their own selfish and ambitious agenda, can use what appears to be right to do hidden wrong when they want to get their wrong into a position where they will appear they do things right, in order to feed their insane egos with power and wealth. This is called human politics.

And as we all know, nowadays there are a lot of people who are in politics who should really be in prison.

In 1854, in a letter directed to the Vice Consul of the Pope, Andrew B. Cross expressed the following wise words which still throw some light upon us on these matters:

“We are a free people, but we are a people of law. If there be not laws to protect every citizen, then let us have such laws. If there be institutions which hold principles, and perpetrate practices which are contrary to the rights of individuals, then let such institutions be abolished, no matter who are the founders, or who are their friends and protectors.”

Below you will find Cross´ mind-opening book which will clearly show you what some people who thought at that time they were above the law inflicted upon their victims.

And after reading it, ponder about it. Soon you will realise we all are actually caught in a daemocratic circus which is now headed full speed towards dictatorial communism.

And environmentally speaking, on the way out… To ourown extinction!

MOTHER NATURE MUST BE THE CENTRE

The main problem with our present economic system is that Nature is around our economy when it should be the other way around: Our economy must be around Nature.

Mother Nature must be the centre. The centre of all of our love.

HOT PLANET: EARTH SICKENED BY MAN´S GREEDINESS

By Salvatore Scimino
June 12, 2012

The research of more than 4,000 climate scientists predict that if global temperatures continue to go up at the present rate, Earth´s temperature will rise 1 degree within 10 years, 2 degrees within the next 40 years and warmer by the end of the century.

Should the Earth´s temperature rise to 3 degrees warmer than the pre-industrial average, the results would be catastrophic for our civilisation (Video 1).

The solution is in our hands. The sooner we kiss good bye our oil addiction the better off we´ll be. But this is the problem, people are stuck with an economic model that is obsolete.

And to change the world we must first change ourselves. Unless we transform our way of thinking, overhaul our subconscious in a way that we feel that happiness is in being and not in having, quit being greedy children and grow up psychological speaking, no economic model will be sustainable.

One thing that marketing psychologists have taught us is that changing the masses of sheeple (sheep people) is not a hard thing to do. Besides there is a domino effect as well.

We must break free from our own chains. Our waking up from our crazy feeding frenzy of Mother Nature´s resources would pressure on the companies that control the world and these in turn would push governments to implement solutions agreeable with the environment.

Of course, don´t go around begging for solutions when you yourself drive your metallic mastodont just to go around the corner to buy a can of soda or go on a shopping spree. These habits must go.

Start walking, bicycling, take public transportation or stay home when you feel the desperado worm crawling in your head, face it up, grow up kid! And quit consuming garbage! Quit buying superfluous things!

Lots of people will be out of work, those whose livelihood depend upon making junk food, silly gadgets or anyone that labours at factories specialised in stupid things that end up in the city dump. To solve this problem, as someone suggested, it should be a crime against Earth and its earthlings to accumulate fortunes beyond 100.000 euros or US dollars, applicable especially to politicians.

And for heaven´s sake, let´s stop shooting our brethren and neighbours! Defense budgets corrode any nation´s well being. Let´s put the guns down and commit ourselves to sharing and being kind. Not the other way around as we are being taught openly, subliminally or surreptitiously by the media.

Wake up before it´s too late! In some part of the world it already is a crime sharing your food with the homeless (Video 2)!! We are being drowned in permits, laws, city ordinances and what have you.

As things stand today, governments are not there to protect the public but to protect the big corporations´ interests. This can be seen in the case of the Canadian tar sands where scientists from the University of Alberta have clearly shown that pollution from this industry is messing up the Arctic ecosystem and still the government insists that nothing is happenning, that the pollution (arsenic, chromium, etc.) is natural. Meanwhile people keep dying sick of cancer.

Nonetheless we are still left with one hurdle: changing the people behind big business. And this is not easy as they are the toughest nut to crack. Perhaps impossible, too hard headed and hard hearted.

These people are psychopaths, drunken with power and greed. So are the shareholders. Their eyes see nothing but green bucks, which is unfortunate for all of us earthlings.

But in the end is the very same people around these power hungry individuals who give them the power, feed their egos. Most people admire, revere and worship power (Fig. 1). Sick people admire or gravitate towards sick people. It is a matter of vibrations.

Since power worshippers come by the tonnes, a drawback to ancient times when it was necessary for humans to follow the leader to a good hunt, now it should be illegal to asskiss. Beware of leaders who are pushing you down the cliff!

So we must wean ourselves off our harmulful consumption and take sound bearings and a good map to walk straight ahead into the future.

Grow up Homo sapiens

Earth is sick because people are sick. Sick of greediness. The cure is simple: "Rich is not the man who owns the most but the one who needs the least" (Henry David Thoreau).

It is time we start admiring the humble and wise (Fig. 2). Let´s start today!

EXTINCTION OF SPECIES: PLEASE TAKE A MINUTE OF SILENCE FOR OUR EXTINCT BRETHREN

                                              A LETTER TO OUR READERS

Dear Brethren:

It is a pity that our paths shall never meet. But then you never know!

It doesn´t matter, for wherever you are, you are us, our neighbours, the bird that sings, the earthworm that crawls inside the  soil, the stubborn fly that reminds us in the Summer that we are still ticking, the dandelion that swings in the breeze, the loving dog or cat at your feet, me...

We all are one on this spaceship Earth. We are like water wells that we see as separate entities from high up in the air when we fly over the vast landscape in an airplane, and yet under the layers of rocks, vegetation and soil they are all connected.

The drop of sweat from your forehead that falls unto the ground as you exercise out on the streets, one day shall be part of other brethren. It may take thousands of years, may be millions, but it shall come to be part of the Life Force of a living being, or continue wandering about in the immense seas.

Drops of water are patient, so are atoms. The protons that form in the heart of the Sun take millions of years to get to the surface, and when they do they fly away into deep space. Some make it to Earth and are captured by the humble carrot that shall nurture our eyes!

So it is this wonderful Multiverse we live in. It is a miracle! To hell with the scientific need to prove whether or not there are such things. Miracles do indeed exist!!

Our "species", a drop in the bucket, appearently separated from the whole by our minds, is a fascinating creature. We´re not by any means the last word in evolution.

Nevertheless we´ve got possibilities. We are half angels, half devils. When the former dwells in our  hearts, not very often, we can be caring and loving, wonderful feelings to have. But when the demons are the kings deep within us, quite often, we can be cruel, sadic, assassins... The most horrible being on Earth!

It is up to us to decide which of the two we let in our hearts! That´s what life is about!

Coming out of bed in the morning and walking around is not being awake. This is called somnambulism. Let´s truly wake up and become enlightened beings! Let us the Light shine in our hearts!!

We can begin right now by taking a minute of silence to honour our brethen pushed to extinction by our ignorance. Please do so and then watch the following video. Whilst you do, let the child in you come out. It is sad what we did to our brethren. We have shed many a tear because of it. We feel that something of ourselves has died. Indeed it has!

May the Light be with you, always. We love you all! And thanks!!

               Deepest peace,

Milagros, Salvatore, Hugo, Henri and all the Atoms that keep us alive
          e-rastrillo, Planet Earth

          Please forgiveth all our sins!

PS. Please feel free to pass this letter along. Thanks again!!

PALM OIL: A DEATH BLOW ON THE FOREST AND ITS INHABITANTS

By Ben Martin
14th March, 2012

Palm oil is in our food, cleaning products and fuel. But it's destroying rainforest and contributing to climate change. Sustainable certification schemes have been set up, but campaigners increasingly question whether they work

It’s impossible to get away from palm oil. Over the last few days you have eaten it, rubbed it into your skin, put it in your car or fed it to your pets. It is found in a staggering array of household products, including processed food, cosmetics, soap and shampoos, and it’s a key ingredient in lubricants, paints, pesticides and biofuels. Yet palm oil is also responsible for some of the most destructive deforestation of current times, and its production is contributing to climate change.

Demand for palm oil has doubled in the last decade, and is predicted to double again by 2020, driven by consumer demand for the foodstuffs, cosmetics and fuels derived from the versatile lipid. But to supply this demand, huge areas of rainforest in Malaysia and Indonesia are being cleared to make way for palm oil plantations, at a rate of over two million hectares a year, according to Friends of the Earth. These rainforests are the last remaining habitat of endangered animals such as the Sumatran tiger, rhinocerous and orang-utan. What's more, much of this rainforest is located on peat land – a natural carbon sink that contains huge reserves of greenhouse gases. Palm oil growers, by razing the forest canopy and draining the peat soil, inadvertently release this stored carbon into the atmosphere. Greenpeace has warned that the destruction of Indonesian peatlands in Riau province alone could release 14.6 gigatonnes of carbon into the atmosphere - equivalent to one year’s total global emissions. Demand for palm oil is only accelerating this process, and it shows no sign of stopping.

Much of this demand comes from biofuel producers, who champion palm oil as a source of cheap, renewable energy, and a potential replacement for fossil fuels. But according to Kenneth Richter at Friends of the Earth, this doesn’t take into account the GHG emissions from deforestation. ‘All the latest research suggests that overall, biofuels made from palm oil don’t actually reduce emissions compared to fossil fuels.’ Worse still, a recently leaked EU impact assessment found that when emissions from deforestation are accounted for, biodiesel produced from palm oil actually emits more carbon than crude oil.

In recent years, the industry has started trying to clean up its act and reduce deforestation. The Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) was founded in 2004, with the goal of encouraging environmentally conscious production by certifying green plantations as sustainable. ‘Last year, seven per cent of the total global production was certified as sustainable,’ certification expert Bob Norman points out. ‘I think that’s a pretty good starting point. There may be a question over pace, but there isn’t a magic tap that can be switched on for instant sustainable palm oil.’

Retailers and supermarkets too are starting to wake up to the dangers of palm oil, as WWF campaigner and RSPO representative Adam Harrison explains. ‘In the UK, almost all the major retailers have committed to using 100 per cent sustainable palm oil for their own brands by 2015.’ The WWF publishes a sustainability scorecard, where manufacturers and retailers of palm oil based products are rated on their commitment to using CSPO. Many of the large supermarket chains scored top marks in the 2011 report. But work remains to be done. ‘Supermarkets aren’t dealing with the third party brands that they sell,’ Harrison continues. ‘Companies like Northern Foods, which are huge suppliers of processed and branded food for Asda, Marks & Spencer, Morrisons, Sainsbury's and Tesco, have performed surprisingly poorly - they just haven’t put the legwork in.’

Some, such as Greenpeace’s Ian Duff, remain sceptical of the RSPO’s certification scheme. ‘There’s no such thing as sustainable palm oil,’ says Duff. ‘The standards under which the RSPO has achieved sustainability are flawed – they’re not strong enough, and they’re not being policed enough. Even if we make all palm oil sustainably produced, that won’t stop the destruction of rainforest in places like Malaysia and Indonesia.’ Kenneth Richter concurs. ‘The RSPO doesn’t take into account carbon emissions at source, which is a huge problem,’ he says. ‘In addition, there are a lot of loopholes, so companies like Sime Darby are members [of RSPO] but there is a lot of evidence that they’ve continued to illegally deforest for plantations.’ Bob Norman is more optimistic. ‘Yes, the bar can always be raised. But out of all the standards out there, it’s a very strong standard. You have to start somewhere.’ Harrison points out that the RSPO’s standards are being continually toughened up. ‘Carbon emissions are on the table for inclusion this year. It’s going to be a fight to get them in, but I think we have a good opportunity to win.’

So what can UK consumers do? ‘It is difficult,’ Harrison admits. Part of the problem is that palm oil is often listed as vegetable oil on product labels, making it hard to spot palm oil products on your shopping list. ‘There is a sustainability trademark, which is now used by a growing number of companies, so hopefully it will get easier,’ Harrison adds. ‘For now, ask your favourite brands and supermarkets what they are doing, and when they will be committed to CSPO.’ Avoiding companies that score poorly on the WWF scorecard will also help. Budget supermarkets Aldi and Lidl both scored zero, while other low scorers include Ferrero (makers of Ferrero Rocher chocolate), Nutella, Continental Bakeries, Goodfellas’ Pizza, and, surprisingly, Ecover. Cosmetics that contain palm oil include the Herbal Essences, Neutrogena, Clinique and Lancôme brands.

Kenneth Richter, meanwhile, advocates a political approach. ‘This year the UK government has to decide whether they will increase the target for biofuel usage, and there are a number of palm oil-fired power stations being planned for the UK. So we think the best thing people can do is to write to their MP.’ Palm oil remains a complicated issue, and shows no signs of going away. But Harrison remains convinced that consumer pressure can make a difference. ‘Companies need to get the message much harder than they have done. The commitment just isn’t really there at the moment, which is very, very worrying.’
