ERDLINGE

"Earthlings" ist eine Dokumentation in Spielfilmlänge über die absolute Abhängigkeit der Menschheit von Tieren (als Haustiere, Nahrung, Kleidung, zur Unterhaltung und in der wissenschaftlichen Forschung), veranschaulicht aber auch unsere Geringschätzung gegenüber diesen sog. "nicht-menschlichen Versorgern". Sprecher des Films ist der Oscar-nominierte Joaquin Phoenix ("Gladiator"), die Filmmusik schrieb der mit Platin ausgezeichnete Künstler Moby.

Der Film bietet detaillierte Einblicke in Tierhandlungen, Welpen-Fabriken und Tierheime sowie Massentierhaltungen, den Leder- und Pelzhandel, die Sport- und Unterhaltungsindustrie und schließlich den medizinischen und wissenschaftlichen Beruf. "Earthlings" verwendet versteckte Kameras und vorher nicht gezeigtes Filmmaterial, um die täglichen Praktiken einiger der größten Industrien der Welt aufzuzeichnen, deren aller Profit vollständig auf Tieren beruht. Kraftvoll, informativ und zum Nachdenken anregend, ist "Earthlings" mit Abstand die umfassendste jemals produzierte Dokumentation zum Verhältnis zwischen Natur, Tieren und menschlichen Wirtschaftsinteressen. Es existieren viele würdige Tierrechtsfilme, aber dieser Film geht über das Bisherige hinaus. "Earthlings" schreit danach, gesehen zu werden.

EXTINCTION OF SPECIES: PLEASE TAKE A MINUTE OF SILENCE FOR OUR EXTINCT BRETHREN

                                              A LETTER TO OUR READERS

Dear Brethren:

It is a pity that our paths shall never meet. But then you never know! 

It doesn´t matter, for wherever you are, you are us, our neighbours, the bird that sings, the earthworm that crawls inside the  soil, the stubborn fly that reminds us in the Summer that we are still ticking, the dandelion that swings in the breeze, the loving dog or cat at your feet, me...

We all are one on this spaceship Earth. We are like water wells that we see as separate entities from high up in the air when we fly over the vast landscape in an airplane, and yet under the layers of rocks, vegetation and soil they are all connected. 

The drop of sweat from your forehead that falls unto the ground as you exercise out on the streets, one day shall be part of other brethren. It may take thousands of years, may be millions, but it shall come to be part of the Life Force of a living being, or continue wandering about in the immense seas. 

Drops of water are patient, so are atoms. The protons that form in the heart of the Sun take millions of years to get to the surface, and when they do they fly away into deep space. Some make it to Earth and are captured by the humble carrot that shall nurture our eyes!

So it is this wonderful Multiverse we live in. It is a miracle! To hell with the scientific need to prove whether or not there are such things. Miracles do indeed exist!! 

Our "species", a drop in the bucket, appearently separated from the whole by our minds, is a fascinating creature. We´re not by any means the last word in evolution. 

Nevertheless we´ve got possibilities. We are half angels, half devils. When the former dwells in our  hearts, not very often, we can be caring and loving, wonderful feelings to have. But when the demons are the kings deep within us, quite often, we can be cruel, sadic, assassins... The most horrible being on Earth! 

It is up to us to decide which of the two we let in our hearts! That´s what life is about!

Coming out of bed in the morning and walking around is not being awake. This is called somnambulism. Let´s truly wake up and become enlightened beings! Let us the Light shine in our hearts!!

We can begin right now by taking a minute of silence to honour our brethen pushed to extinction by our ignorance. Please do so and then watch the following video. Whilst you do, let the child in you come out. It is sad what we did to our brethren. We have shed many a tear because of it. We feel that something of ourselves has died. Indeed it has!
