Opium is one of those golden egg geese that whoever has it is not going to let go of it at all. Part of the global economy sits on precious golden eggs.

The opium trade is a multibillion dollar business. The value of the Afghan opium business in the black market of the illegal drugs reached a whopping $70 billion USD or more in 2012. This is a lot of bread!

People have become immensely rich dealing with it (e.g., the Sassoon family, the Rothschilds of the East) in the past. Remember the famous Opium Wars?

And now it is the same thing except that the whole damn thing has gone underground where the human rats do best their job to trade with this fucking drug.

Sooner or later the underground money gets to the surface, as if it were the cargo of a stealth submarine, reaching banks around the globe, especially tax haven countries, and powering the engine of the present fucking cannibalistic global economy.

According to the UNODC Report (2013), Afghanistan has increased 36% (Table 1) its opium poppy cultivation.

This means more cash for the drug traffickers and their bosses under and above the surface in the black market. Therefore, whoever is pulling these underwater strings has gotten richer.

No wonder international mafiosi now consider this fucking business quite "sustainable", for they have also hopped into the "sustainability badwagon", according to some organised crime specialists.
