Most people do not see beyond their noses. If they do not see something, therefore it does not exists. But the world we live in does not fit into this shortsighted scheme of seeing things.
Culturally speaking, we live inside a bottle. But universally and biologically speaking, we inhabit an immense world where everything is connected, from the tiniest to the biggest. Such is the nature of things.
Today´s movie is an unusual epic of a bunch of children who have been reduced in size by a machine and are thrown into a lawn.
And here comes the interesting part of the movie. It lets you see with some imagination what it would be if you were an insect, for example, living next to any home.
You as a human being and your mate might be in bed upstairs doing some genital matching with no apparent end in sight or perhaps you are busy studying for a boring school test... But outside, at the same time, in your garden there is a whole unseen world full of miniature creatures who are doing their thing, who are struggling to survive, to make a living and reproduce to maintain the living chain.
Your boring symphony is being played at the same time other grander symphonies are also being performed.
Yours is really meaningless, for humans are overall antibiospherical creatures but the melody played by those tiny critters is really important because each player plays to keep the fabric of the Biosphere sound and healthy for the benefit of all the inhabitants upon Earth.
Thus, this movie should be a window to ponder about your tiny neighbours, those creatures you do not give a damn about or never see unless you pay close attention or they infringe upon your economical interests.
It should make you come out of your small world and throw you into the ocean of life, a life that goes beyond your own life.
We hope that in the end you get a feeling for the feeling that needs a lot of our feeling to understand that we are not the only ones upon this Earth.
There are others whose lives we are counting on for our own survival. We cannot continue ignoring them. To do so would mark our own doom.
We humans have a task: To love Mother Nature as much as we love our own mothers. And this should be every human´s goal.
Put it on your agenda.
Have a good day!
