USA: MONEY SPENT ON “DANDRUFF OF THE GODS”

In 1997, drug users in the USA spent $50 billion on illegal drugs, $30.8 billion of which will be on the “dandruff of the gods” (cocaine) alone, according to Chun (1997)´s report.

And since the number of drug users keep going up all the time, it is not surprising that a few years later the amount of money wasted on illegal drugs has increased too.

Thus, in January 2012, the U.S. White House Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) reported that the total consumption for the four most popular illicit drugs (cocaine, heroin, marijuana, and methamphetamine) from 2000 to 2010 has skyrocketed to $100 billion.

Now the big question is: Where the fuck goes all of this illegally-derived money?

As you can imagine, the Lords of the Planet have conveniently set up plenty of washing places to do their dirty laundry (i.e., tax havens).

So that the rascally washed money somehow, somewhere and everywhere, becomes the main wood that keeps the fucking XXI century´s economic machine going.
