Mon Capitaine, they call "progress" this business of mountaintop removal for coal, don´t they?

Oui, mon ami.

Fuck!

Mon Capitaine, I have a feeling we took the wrong turn a long time ago. And now it is damn hard for most folks to change their anti-biospherical course to get their cake.

That´s the problem, mon ami. We are fucking hooked on energy.

For the time being, there is no light at the end of our energy tunnel yet.

However, if we don´t smart up, ecologically speaking, pretty soon Mother Nature will push the go-to-hell button for humans (Homo insapiens).

The labyrinthodonts are waiting for us, mon ami.

We are all in this mess. We´d better check inside ourselves - our own squandering of natural resources - before doing so outside, if you know what I mean, mon ami.

The problem is not only them but also us.

Mon ami, you can´t have your cake and eat it too!

Let us watch the following clip (Video 1) about this messy business of mountaintop removal to get the coal in West Virginia (USA):

Massive corporations are blowing up mountains and creating environmental ruins in West Virginia. All this devastation, just to extract some coal.

We went to West Virginia to investigate mountain-top removal -- which a way of extracting coal from deposits under mountains. Instead of drilling into the mountain and sending men underground to take out the coal in the traditional way, they just take the whole top of a mountain off.
