 Humans use gods 

to expiate their barbarities.

More and more research is showing that you are what you eat. Something that some ancient folks have already known all along.

It is just that in the West, XXI century man is terribly in loved - sometimes mad - with the "scientific method" (SM). And if something is not under this umbrella it is not worth jack. 

This kind of seeing the world tuned to the music of  scientific method is OK, of course.  We all know that is needed in many aspects.

But in others, this method sucks, if not evil.

When it sucks, it means in too many cases torturing animals such as sticking probes and needles in the asses or bellies of mice, rats, dogs, cats, chimpanzees and what have you to find out what makes them tick and sick when used in cruel experimentation (Video 1) and so forth.

Ancient traditional medical wisdom (e.g., Ayurvedic science) (Video 2) is still seen as plain nonsense or not worth considering in a some scientific circles.

Some it is nonsense, like the medicinal use of elephant ivory in China, for example. There is no scientific basis for it.

And it is not only that but also is embedded as part of a serious environmental problem. The illegal trafficking elephant tusks, for exmple, has brought these wonderful pachyderms to the brink of extinction.

But other is definitely not. Therefore, traditional medical wisdom should not be discarded as useless at all.

Some scientists sponsored by big pharmaceutical companies are certanly open to explore this world.

Why do you think there are now many botanists, ethnobotanists and pharmacologists becoming pupils of South American shamans deep in the Amazon jungle?

Go and ask Dr. Mark J. Plotkin (1993) what he thinks. He will tell you that a great deal of modern medicine discoveries are achieved by checking what is on the other side of the fence: In this case the side of the Amazon jungle shamans.

Anyway, what you see is not what you see but what you see is what you see as you were told to see it. 

This is the case with human behaviour, especially when it comes to food habits.

There are dualities in this world.



Man´s gruesome dualities: India´s trafficked cows 

There are many gruesome dualities in this world. One of them is the duality of animal slaughtering, which all of the people who eat meat thrive upon, and people´s "spirituality" (if any) around the planet.

Historically and mythological, most people on Earth have idolised and still idolise blood-thirsty demigods or demons, some of which may or may not be disguised (conveniently or not) as all-loving and mighty aethereal creatures.   

So, praying to these freaky "gods" and then slaughtering animals do not mix even though people mix them when they want to mix what they should not mix with what they cannot mix when they do not mix because they want to mix them where they do not mix but they mix what cannot be mixed even though is mixed when it is not mixed.

This bloody dual mixing is not at all surprising since people - Homo insapiens, an ape yet to achieve the true sapiens (sensu stricto) threshold, not Linnaeus´ sensus - basically function like programmed robots. Biological robots, that is. 

And, with few exceptions, they are! 

Take the food habit programming or software, for instance.

People do not eat what they think they want to eat when they want to eat it but they eat what they were programmed to eat. Enhanced by memories, of course.

Since childhood and through the growing years, people are programmed at home, school and society just like machines (computers). In this case, like biological machines.

They are programmed in many aspects of their lives: what to eat, when to eat, what to wear, how to behave, what to read, how to fuck, where to go to, what to shop for, what gods to pray to, etc., etc.

And one of people´s most cherished programmes is the food habits software.

If you push the button of questioning the food habits programming of these biological robots (humans), the software they do not want you or anyone to ever touch, they will go crazy. 

They will take a defensive stand or posture. They will tell you to fuck off. 

When over-programmed (maniac) along this line, these biological robots will curse you and even attack you.

In some extreme cases, when the biological robots/humans were screwed up during the early years of their programming, they might even twist and wring your neck like a chicken. 

In other words, they may kill you for having questioned their food habits software!

After all, food habits are sacred programmes for these biological robots/humans. 

Take for example the meat eating habit.

Meat-devouring biological robots (i.e., human carnivores) invent and have invented myriads of excuses and piles of hypotheses upon hypotheses and theories upon theories supported and sponsored by a global meat mafia, the powerful meat industry & Inc. (i.e., e global elite and its hived scientists and physicians, most of whom have never take a nutrition course in their lives and/or do not keep abreast with the havoc this bloody habit is causing in human populations; they do not tell you the truth for fear of losing their jobs) in order to maintain this programmed profiteering bloody habit (e.g., in 2009, meat and poultry industry sales totalled $154.8 billion in the USA) which cannot be maintained forever in a planet of finite resources.  

In a world with an explosion of the numbers of biological robots/humans - 7.000.000.000 of them (they´ve been busy fucking!) and still growing - considering that most of them want to eat meat, then there will not be any hope for the human species. 

Mon Capitaine, are these crazy people planning on raising cows in Mars?

These biological robots/humans do and will do anything and everything to hang on to their meat eating software at the expense of fucking up their nest (Video 3), mon Capitaine!

Now, considering the state of the planet at the present time, only environmetally irresponsible meat-loving biological robots/humans can still wonder about what to wonder about when there is no more time to wonder about when they wonder about what they enjoy wondering about what they should not be wondered about any longer in a anthropogenically screwed up world. A world where Mother Nature´s wonder is the absolute owner and master of all in the end.

Where is the change in diet?

India: A pain in the cattle

India is a pain in the cattle. Why? It is a place where thousands of cows are subjected to a lot of suffering and a cruel death.


It comes to most people´s surprise to find out that cow-loving India is amongst the top 10 beef producing countries in the whole world (Fig. 1).

This means a lot of cow killing in the slaughterhouses, legally or illegally. 

Fuck!

On the one hand, cows are sacred but on the other hand cows are sent to hell.

Some people in India and neighbouring countries love cows. Humans do not mean any harm to these noble animals. Their lives depend on the lives of these animals.

Other India´s people "love" them too. Yeah! 

But they love cows in a different way. They are meat lovers and meat traffickers and/or meat mafiosi.

These meat lovers and/or meat traffickers love to see cows in the cooking pot, nationally or transnationally.

Unfortunately, many a times, if not done out of crokedness, poverty puts a lot of pressure on some people and pushes them to this trafficking limit in India, a country where surprisingly there are many billionaires that could do more for their countrymen than just sucking their blood.

In this mafia world, to get these sentient animals to the cooking pot, cows are put through a living hell.  

That is sad.

One coin, two faces. 

One gruesome duality.

Let us see a good example of man´s gruesome dualities: Cow trafficking in India and Bangladesh (Video 3):

In India, cows are sacred and venerated. Yet millions cross the border illegally, destined for the abattoir in neighbouring Bangladesh. In a country with insufficient cattle to feed its population, Indian cows are big business. Derr (2014) states that "a dietary change toward veganism is one of the most powerful, tangible ways to reduce one's individual, household, or community ecological footprint. According to Environmental Working Group data, if a four-person family stops eating meat and cheese for one week, they benefit the environment as much as if they stopped driving their car for 35 weeks."

In other words, one of the most powerful weapons you have at your disposal to combat and reduce the impact of your lifestyle upon Mother Nature is right at the table: Your knife and fork.

If you are concerned about the environment and the future of your children, now you know what to do. The decision is yours.

Nonetheless, keep in mind that your decision as far as what to eat is concerend has been moulded and shaped by what you were exposed to at a very early age of your life. 

So, what appears to be your decision, it is really someone else´s decision imposed upon you back in time. 

In order for it to be your true decision you must cut this Gordian knot stemming from your childhood.

In a nutshell, "know thyself" before you are be able to truly make a sound decision over whether to continue being a carnivore or go vegan.

Upon reaching such a point, your comprehension, empathy and respect towards Earth and its creatures would most likely be in full bloom.

That´s the hope.

THE VATICAN´S PURSE: FINANCES AND OUR LOOSE ENDS

The Vatican finances have always arouse the curiosity and speculation of many a historian and also captured the people´s imagination. It is believed that the Church owns a vast economical empire throughout the world.

If we look at St. Peter´s purse from the point of view of its historical possessions, there is no doubt that the Church´s wealth is immense.  

For example, St. Peter's Basilica and its art treasures are beyond price.

But cashwise, the Vatican is "nearly broke", according to Tully (2013). 

Tulley (2013) states that "last year the Holy See, the administrative center of the Church and the spiritual capital of its members, took in $57.3 million from sources as diverse as fees for ceremonies; income from publications, newspaper ads, and the sale of videocassettes; and surprisingly modest investment earnings of $18 million. With investments of some $500 million, the Vatican commands fewer financial resources than many U.S. universities".

According to the latest IOR Annual Report, the Vatican´s annual income for the year 2012 was US$100 millions which is not enough to cover its bureaucratic apparatus. 

So, the Church has to scrape from here and there including St. Peter´s Pence, the money coming from the mass of followers, to make ends meet.

This economic strapping plus the recent scandals of money laundering and sex abuse have the Vatican dancing waltz.

As a result, the new Pope, Francis I, has decided to sweep his Church. 

On the banking front, Francis I wants the Institute for the Works of Religion (IOR, Istituto per le Opere di Religione) to be a transparent institution. And measures against money laundering have been taken to keep the mafia out of the house.

Because of this, Francis I has been warned that the ´Ndrangheta, one of the most powerful criminal organisations in Italy, might attempt to send him to Heaven, according to some sources. 

As some Rome´s people in the markets say, the "Indiano Pope had better watch out his cup of coffee".


Our loose ends must be tied 

Since humans have a weakness for power and flesh, keeping the Vatican´s vast empire clean is not going to be an easy task. 

The Pope has a lot of ends to tend and some knots might become loose if they go unchecked and as a result the dirt could appear floating on the surface.

For example, not long ago (2009), Ernesto Rivera y Giannina Segnini, from the newspaper La Nación (Costa Rica), discovered that in the Catholic Church´s bank accounts there was an illegal intermediate offshore financing net dedicated to catching money from people outside their domains with the sole purpose to obtain gross earnings from loans and stock operations.

Some flocks need more attention than others as well. 

In Panama, for instance, where there are thousands of people "chewing up cables" (i.e.,going hungry), we have seen nuns not only driving around flashy and expensive cars but also depositing huge amounts of cash (St. Peter´s pence?) in the banks of some cities (e.g., Penonome, Province of Cocle). 

On the hanky panky section, the Catholic Church is suffering a pedophilia pandemic which must be stopped.

But given that Catholic priests do not wear chastity belts (Fig. 1), some shepherds might get too carried away and give in to the pleasures of forbidden flesh.

And this is exactly what happened to a priest who got a 16 year old girl pregnant in Penonome (Province of Cocle), Panama, a while back.

A couple of years ago, a priest was caught red handed having sex with a woman of his parish. This case occurred in Trujillo, Peru (Video 1). The local press made a lot of noise about it.

Another case of pedophilia which brought a lot of press attention took place in Chile recently. The pederast Spanish priest had a slew of videos of child pornography (Video 2). This man should have been tarfeathered and shipped to the Moon!

All of this has hurt the Church image. These are loose ends that must be clean, tied and corrected.

Some experts indicate that this discrediting is done on purpose by a hidden hand in its crusade against the Christian Church. 

We must keep in mind that the problem is not with the Christian precepts and principles but with the people within this religious institution: The priests who are given the job of leading the flock on the right path to find the Creator fail to do so and fall in the hands of the satan instead.

Perhaps another loose end to be taken in consideration is the nasty business of bullfighting (Video 3).

The Catholic Church should take a stand and pronounce against this animal massacre as Pope Pius V did according to the Papal Bull De Salute Gregi Dominici in 1567, and more so in an age when there is right now a wave of enlightenment sweeping and engulfing Earth. 

There should be no more room for torturing and killing innocent animals for the pleasure of sadomasochists at the ring or anywhere. 

Such cruel "sport" cleverly disguised as "cultural heritage" should be abolished once and for all.

Why should the Church get involved with bullfighting? 

Because there is some incongruousness in the Catholic Church´s leaders. 

We can see this clearly when  Monsignor Ubaldo Santana, Archbishop of Maracaibo (Venezuela), is valiantly against the bullfighting mafia whereas Fr. Joaquín E. Sánchez García, J.S., Chancellor of the Pontificial Xavierian University (Pontificia Universidad Javeriana) of Colombia (UJC) and former chaplain of the Plaza de toros de La Santamaría (The Santamaria Bullring) in Bogota, is fond of this cruel fiesta and has been repeatedly seen assisting to bullfights. 

Father Sánchez García has confessed to Caracol Radio in Bogota, Colombia, that "the most beautiful times of his life were when he was chaplain of the bullring". 

As an excuse this Jesuit repeats, like a scratched RCA Victrola´s disc, the downtrodden path that "if there were no bullfights there would not be Lidia bulls at all". 

If you are one of those vampires whose life depends on bulls´ blood legally or illegally, for there are some experts who indicate that bullfighting is being used to commit money laundering via internet bets or through phantom firms set up in tax havens or you are an incipient or hidden psychopath, you will agree to the UJC Chancellor´s cliche. 

But it you have developed your compassion and empathy to the fullest, deep down in your amigdala gland or heart, there is no way you will buy that.

Besides, are priests and other members of the Catholic Church not supposed to be very loving, compassionate and empathic people? Or are these noble feelings only reserved to be given to humans?

Perhaps if Saint Francis of Assisi (1182-1226) were with us here on Earth today, he would not hesitate to tell us that humans and nonhumans are to be loved alike. 

And he did, did he not? Well, at this is what the legends about this Christian saint tell us.

More likely Saint Francis was "not a vegetarian" neither a "Deep Ecologist", as Thompson (2012) has explained in his new book about the life of this saint. 

And we would not be surprised that at times St. Francis probably also had a few temper tantrums with his dumb friars.

Anyway, inasmuch as many people are now caught under the slavery of the meat lobby which is being now wisely questioned and with the thousands of people are dropping dead like flies with rotten colons infested with cancer due to too much meats in their diets, in a world of finite resources, many scientists are now telling us that the future of mankind - if humans want to survive - is in veganism. We concur.

For the time being, forget about colonies on Mars or on a Earthlike planet somewhere in Andromeda Galaxy to "save humanity". There are more important issues to solve on Earth right now.

Nevertheless, the United States, India and China are on an space ego-race, planning on sending men or women to Mars in the near future and provided that they would send only 12 people, more likely only one would returned home - Earth, if lucky. 

Once back on Earth, the lucky astronaut would not be able to stand on his or her feet because the weightlessness of the long journey in outer space would have turned his muscles to pulp. 

The rest of the crew would have been killed by the cosmic and solar radiation or from an internal fight in a crazy fit from being enclosed in a tin box for too long of a time in outer space.

Of course, scientists are working on solving these problems. But at the same time, they are picking up their loaded paycheque gathered from the taxpayers´ sweat and the corporations behind these projects are definitely making a kill. 

Perhaps the time is ripe for all of us Homo "sapiens" earhtlings including the Church folks to take our only exit out of this messy overconsumption highway we are on at top speed: Veganism. 

Along other changes we all must implement, of course: Becoming compassionate and respectful with all forms of life on Earth, controlling our stupid squandering, quit looting the oceans, stop killing marine mammals, quit warmongering, etc., etc.

And for Christ´s sake, let us be coherent. 

We too often fill up our mouths talking of love but at the same time we ship our kids to war, and worldwide people are dying of starvation and millions of animals are being tortured and killed at slaughterhouses every single day, round the clock, year round (Video 4).

After all, is it not also a big incongruousness to be talking of love whilst you are eating your nonhuman brethren in fancy prepared dishes such as the famous Easter roast lamb or the roast turkey for Thanksgiving?

These ends and many other ends can be ended if the ends are tied together to end what needs to end when the ends are bought finally together as an end to put everything together. And since together we are, we might as well learn to bring any ends together with the end of caring and maintaining in healthy condition the Biosphere, for if we do not bring our ends together and work together towards this end we will soon find our end as a species on Earth. 

The labyrinthodonts are patiently waiting for us to join them in the fossil pit.

And now before we wrap it up, we will leave our readers with a St. Francis of Assisi´s phrase: 

“The deeds you do may be the only sermon some persons will hear today.”

And right now, we need more deeds than cheap talk and hogwash summits when it comes to "saving" the Earth.

We humans must clean our own mess.

SIMPLE RECIPES TO HELP MOTHER EARTH: FLOUR BURGERS

The poet and philosopher Henry David Thoreau (1817-1862) used to say "If you eat three meals a day, eat only two or one. Simplify... Simplify".

Let us "simplify". Let us eat at the bottom and not at the top.

Flour burgers

Ingredients

• 4 heaped spoonfuls of whole wheat flour
• Half a teaspoon of yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae)
• 1 small green or red pepper or a small onion sliced up
• Ground black pepper
• Salt
• Half a cup of water

Procedure: 

Put all of the ingredients into a bowl, add salt and black pepper to your taste and mix well with a spoon.

Heat up some sesame seed oil in a flying pan. Take a heaped spoonful of the mix, put on the bottom of the pan, mould it with the spoon and fry it until brown on both sides.

Depending on the sizes, you may get two or more delicious flour burgers.

Now comes the best part: 

Get two slices of whole wheat bread or one bread bun, lettuce, mustard, tomatoes and whatever you want to put on your flour burger (Fig. 1).

The privilege of having something to eat

In a world full of Have nots, it is a real privilege to be able to get the hands on one on the flour burger babies.

Sadly there are too many poor people. We the people who live on the side of abundance have a lot to do with this. 

The giant multinational enterprises that keep us fat and sick make sure we do not go missing anything and cater to every whim we can think of, so in the end we all suck dry the "poor" nations. 

Not that these nations are poor. Quite the contrary, they are immensely rich, swimming in vast oceans of natural resources. They are simply badly mismanaged and kept poor for our convenience, for our fucking consumerism. 

The multinational shepherds only give the stuff that their insatiable human sheep ask for. 

And if the human sheep do not ask for stuff they are pushed and manipulated to ask for stuff, in a never ending stupid cycle that is tearing up and fucking up Mother Earth´s Biosphere. 

And beware... The human sheep are becoming ever hungry for more stuff. 


Food is sacred

Still hungry for the flour burger? We hope so. 

We are not trying to spoil your moment. We are just hoping you do some soul searching before you sink your teeth on a piece of sacredness, for food is sacred. 

And having something to eat is a real privilege.

We ourselves are quite thankful to Life for the many things we have been given on loan, for nobody can really say this is mine because we are all passing through this beautiful planet, Earth. 

We are all tourists on Earth.

And whilst we are alive, why not make our mission as human beings to take care of Mother Earth? 

Let us "simplify". Let us eat at the bottom and not at the top.
