KURU: A TRANSMISSIBLE PRION DISEASE IN HUMANS

From 1920 to the late 1950s the Fore people in a remote area of Papua New Guinea suffered from a strange disease that puzzled medical researchers. The experts had not seen anything like it before.

After years of painstaking investigation of looking into the private lives and habits of the Fore people and later torturing a few chimpanzees in the "name of science", the doctors came to the conclusion that this disease, known as kuru to the villagers, was caused by a prion, a misfolded protein.

The Fore villagers acquired kuru from cannibalism, eating brain tissue from dead bodies in a mortuary ritual (Video 1).

Kuru is a type of transmissible spongiform encephalopathy and has a long incubation period of infection which can exceed 50 years (Collinge et al., 2006). Kuru leads to brain degeneration and death of the victim.

It is amongst a group of prion diseases which include mad cow disease (bovine spongiform encephalopathy, BSE), Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD) and scrapie

The famous Alzheimer´s disease is now known to be a prion disease as well. Many people suffering from this malady are now believed to be misdiagnosed cases of humans infected with mad cow disease, according to some researchers.

Prions occur normally in humans in a harmless stage. It is believed that meat consumption in humans causes these prions to take misfolded shapes leading to spongiform encephalopathies in the infected individuals.

In a sense, the butchered cows killed everyday around the world to feed millions of anti-biospherical humans are fighting back the atrocities that these animals suffer at the slaughterhouses (Video 2).

There are outspoken researchers who are already saying that meat eating in humans is not only anti-biospherical in a planet of finite resources but also a deadly trap.

These experts foresee that by the end of the XXI century most humans (Homo insapiens) will be utterly mad, being nothing but a bunch of crazy naked apes as a result of their meat eating habit.

The only reason this insanity, the killing marathon of domestic animals is happening right now worldwide, it is because people have been brainwashed to eat meat, to make meat the centre of their lives after sex, to consider meat as a symbol of power, to turn meat into a god, by a global elite that controls the meat industry, a lobby as powerful as the underground mafia itself.
