Besides sex, drugs, inventing machines and a few other tangled skeins locally and globally, eating chunks of an animal cadaver is at the centre of the United States´ culture nowadays.
Of course, this is done at the expense of the pain and suffering of millions of animals whose lives are cut at diabolical slaughterhouses.
Whereas the poor hardworking and unwanted people and thieves who colonised the US ate well more or less, their descendants are now eating shit.
They are gobbling up heavily processed, radioactive, xenobiotic and plastic foods. In other words, Sophisticated shit.
The result of eating too much meat, way too much protein of animal origin, plus other junky stuff, is that "gringos" are fucked up. They are totaled. Fatwise.
Truly, "God´s Country" is suffering from a terrible obesity epidemic. Plus the cancer plague.
Other countries, for example Mexico, that have adopted this fuckingly unhealthy "American" diet are also suffering from the same terrible consequences: Cardiac diseases, diabetes, pancreas cancer, colon cancer, kidney failures, brain tumours, breast cancer, etc.
It is a case of monkey sees, monkey does. Monkey sees, monkey gets fat. Monkey eats sophisticated foods, monkey kicks the bucket ridden with cancer.
Fat people are everywhere not only in the USA but globally. Anywhere where there are people with enough money to buy lots of meat and junk foods, you will find supersize people.
As expected, fatness, or call it obesity, businessmen will not let this opportunity going by without making money from it. So fat people have become a gold mine for the economy.
There are now big toilets (Fig. 1), giant beds, superlarge pants, huge chairs, enormous soft drinks, humongous milkshakes, supergiant hamburgers... anything huge fit for unfit fat people.

The only thing that is missing in this new fat economy is tapping people´s fatness for energy.
Perhaps instead of screwing up the environment and poisoning the underground aquifers with nasty chemicals from fracking (hydraulic fracturing) all over the US (Fig. 2), oil companies should have come up with a way of tapping the large masses of body grease people carry around.

Of course, neither of the two sources of energy, people´s fat and fracking, is sustainable in the long run.
Sooner or later man will have to stop this business of squandering Earth´s natural resources.
If man does not stop his stupid wasteful habits, Nature will make man do it. For sure.
So, today´s movie has to do with a suicidal fat kid. One of those who have fallen victim of the obesity epidemic.
And without going into details, there are two things that stand out in this film:
- A caring and understanding father and
- The beauty of friendship
Both make this movie worth watching.
