The gist of today´s film boils down to a pact with Satan. It is certainly not the best movie about this subject. A matter which would be treated more profoundly by any demonologist or anyone who wants to dive his nose into these not so clear waters.
Nevertheless, the film has some good theatrical effects. It is a labyrinth, a sequence for the devil to win souls.
Which brings us to one question: Is it not life a labyrinth where you bet your life for a big chunk of the cake taken away from the rest?
If you were not born with the dollar bill stuck in your ass, on the one hand, you will race for a high salary which comes from licking a hand of the of the global elite.
And on the other hand, you may end up on the other extreme, which involves working in the dungeons with the drug lords to become rich, fueled by desperation to get away for a measly living eating shit, to avoid having to worry too much about how to make ends meet.
There are people who fall on any of these extremes and others that end up in between.
Life is a lottery. The winner is whoever plays best with the cards he´s got.
Some species play alone. Each individual does his best with his cards on the big table of life. Other species enter the game as a group. The whole group unfolds its best cards as a unit to face the challenges of life.
So, in the case of man, considering that he is a social and supposedly an intelligent creature, he must take into account not only himself but others as well, for if the winner neglects his fellow beings he may hit a wall and run into the risk of becoming a loser himself in the end.
Since man has an ethics or moral card, life then is a race not only against death but also a match between two forces, evil and good. Which to choose is the big question we must all contend with.
Although the movie will masturbate your mind for sure, you should never neglect to ask questions and solve by yourself the big ones life throws at you.
If you search in the right place, you will find what you may be looking for.
Let us hope that whatever you may find is for the good and benefit of everyone else, human and nonhuman, on planet Earth.
