ALTERED STATES IN ABANTO (ARAGON): A LADY OF THE SPANISH MANOR

It happened in Abanto, a small town located in the province of Zaragoza (Aragon, Spain). It occurred during summertime in one of my trips around Iberia in the late 90s.

It is a long story but here I will only relate the tail of it. It is about a visit with an old Spanish couple, one of those whose hospitality was indeed extraordinary. No names need be mentioned though. Privacy is one of the most precious things nowadays!

That day from what I could see, the lady of the manor was totally desperate. Her daughter had not called her at the usual time. It was already getting late. She was edgy and kept going up and down the stairs trying to calm down her altered state. She was in her late 70s. Her husband, sitting closed by in the living room, apparently didn´t give a damn whether their daughter call them or not. He was also ripe in years, a kind and honourable gentleman with one foot on the tomb and the other one on a banana peel.

As far as life is concerned, both were in the waiting room to be called upon by Atropos. We all are, aren´t we?

Then finally the telephone rang and she ran like crazy to get the call. Being an invitee at their small home, obviously I overheard everything. There was not much conversation, only a mere exchange of hellos and some information about their state of their mutual state of health and that was it.

But as usual, the phone signal was ionically pumped up into her brain, soothing her unstable programmed neurons embedded in her memory box, the amygdala gland. Relaxed once again, at least for that particular day, she came down from the sky to continue talking nostalgically about the olden days. From any historical perspective, Spain´s grand bygone-days are fascinating indeed.

The gist of this story is that this old Spanish lady was definitely hooked on the telephone. She was addicted to it.

Those were the days when telephone companies and their pay-check, grant-loaded scientists, quietly and deep in their labs were working damn hard to launch new generations of toys to entertained the human cattle (humans) with wireless electronic signals this time.

A few centuries back, the masters used paintings, mythological sculptures, humongous monuments, animal fights (cocks, dogs, bulls, bears), torturing and killing people at the town square (Fig. 1), burning folks considered a menace to the status quo, clowns performing silly acrobatics, rascal story-tellers, errant troubadours reciting poetry, comedians, priests coaxing people go on long and often dangerous pilgrimages, and many other ruses, tactics, stratagems, schemes, maneuvres, contrivances, tricks, and so forth to keep their slaves more or less (apparently) satisfied but yet scared, fearful and hopeful so they would not revolt.

In today´s world, many things have really changed, obviously. That is, technologically speaking. But the real thing, the (visible or hidden) masters at the helm controlling the puppets whose face we know as politicians and government officials, still are the same. Functioning like a conveyor belt, the old generation of masters dies and its new generation takes over to do the old controlling job. In other words, their replacements are members of the same elite clans, making use of the conveniently lettered and scientifically-trained peasant-stock folks allowed in here and there, brainwashed, groomed and bottled at schools, institutes and universities, flocked as birds of the same feather together, to take care of the real or illusory needs of the masters´ human cattle herds, either locally or globally. All roads still lead to Rome.

But now this game of controlling humans has become a lot easier. For example, with a click on a tablet or iphone and voilá, they are bombarded with direct or subliminal messages that will keep them on the desired social matrix, connected and chatting nonsense with one another whether to kill time, step outside the boredom realm, get a date, tell their colleagues of a new invention or publication, share the transient happiness of a new job, get good or bad news, do legal or illegal business to keep their money sack somewhat full or overfilled, etc. This is the high-tech glue that keeps them imprisoned in the elite´s conveniently fabricated global farm.

In the meantime, the real masters get bloated, sucking up the living essence out of their modern slaves. As a whole, the true owner of everything – Nature - basically gets treated like shit, which means a terrible loss for everyone living on the planet. Ecologically speaking and overall, man (Therapsida: Mammalia: Primates: Hominidae: Homo “sapiens”) is fucking blind.

So telephone companies have become sort of small masters of enormous quantities of (Hominina) people in many ways, directly or indirectly. And deep down in the rabbit hole, these are nothing but extensions of the powerful masters´ visible or invisible hands.

In Spain, Telefonica is one example. She is certainly one of the ladies of the Spanish manor.

Telefonica has not only kept people in touch via telephone in Spain for a long time, but has also pushed its power well beyond the Iberian shores, for it has now become globalised.

This means that under this company´s skin you will come across with some rich shareholders or their proxies from different parts of the world. And as part of its international economic interests, it has an economic footing in Panama as well.

If you want to get to know a little bit more this sophisticated lady of the Spanish manor (i.e., Telefonica), go here. Pay close attention to her business flow chart on page 41!

Happy reading!!
