Folks, when you are shopping at the supermarket, please do not forget: Avoid plastics as much as possible. Take a green (e.g., Sisal) shopping bag to the grocery store.
Or at least, knowing how damn hard or nearly impossible is to avoid them in our Plasticocene age, make sure your plastics get recycled or what you shop is wrapped in biodegradable plastic which should also undergo recycling.
Check the company that does the plastic recycling job in your neighbourhood, for some of these trash pickup businesses tell people they recycle plastics but take them to a dump instead!
Midway Island (Video 1) is a painful reminder of our plastic mess. Please watch this clip once again. This is a nasty indirect result of our addiction to plastics.

PLASTIC PLANET: MAN´S BLEAK FUTURE
By Salvatore Scimino
August 17, 2012
A spaceship from another planet landed on Earth. Two aliens stepped out and engaged in man watching. After a few days of studying this bipedal primate, the extraterrestrials came to the conclusion that man was only interested in polluting Earth and warmongering.
Upon seeing that man has contaminated the entire planet with plastics, they decided that it would be best to leave these bipedal creatures alone, for they concluded that within one or perhaps two hundred years there would not be a single specimen of his kind left. So as they came they left.
Wilst they were here, nobody noticed their presence, for people were too busy consuming their plastics.
